Thank you for using HostCast. HostCast is built offline-first: the digital-human engine, text-to-speech, and recording all run locally on your iPhone or iPad. No internet connection is required for the core experience.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I use HostCast?
Pick a host, write or choose a script in the Script Desk, then record. In Broadcast mode the host reads your script on camera; in Interview mode the director's console lets you switch between the host and your own camera close-up while you record both sides.

Do I need an internet connection?
No. HostCast runs fully on-device. There is no cloud backend, no account, and nothing is sent to any server.

Is my script or video uploaded?
Never. Your scripts, recordings, and settings stay on your device. HostCast does not operate servers that receive this data.

Who are the hosts?
All hosts in HostCast are virtual, fictional characters rendered by an on-device avatar engine. They are not real people and do not represent any individual.

Core Commitment: We respect your privacy. HostCast collects no personal data and transmits nothing off your device.

Fully offline. The digital-human engine, speech synthesis, and recording all run on your device. Your scripts, recordings, and settings stay on your device. We do not operate servers that receive this data.

1. What Data We Collect
Short answer: We collect no personally identifiable information (PII).
The core experience runs entirely offline and requires no account or internet connection. Therefore:

❌ We do not collect your name, email, or phone number.
❌ We do not collect your precise location.
❌ We do not collect device identifiers for advertising.
❌ We do not integrate third-party advertising or analytics SDKs.

2. How Data is Stored
All data generated by the app is stored locally on your device:

📱 Stored within your device using Apple's native sandboxing.
🔐 Inaccessible to other apps or network services.
🗑️ Uninstalling the app permanently deletes all related local records.

3. Device Permissions
HostCast requests only the permissions it needs:

🎤 Microphone — to record your voice into the video when you broadcast or film an interview or blog with your digital host.
📷 Camera — optional, only if you turn on your close-up; off by default.
📸 Photo Library (add-only) — only when you save a screen recording.
🚫 No Local Network permission is required (the avatar runs via an in-app local resource scheme, not a network service).

4. Purchases
HostCast Pro is a one-time unlock (no subscription). Purchase is handled by Apple's App Store; we never see or store your payment information.

5. Children's Privacy
HostCast is a content-creation tool intended for general audiences. It must not be used by anyone to create unlawful content. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors.

6. Updates to This Policy
We may update this policy to comply with the latest App Store guidelines. Updated policies are published on this page; continued use constitutes acceptance.

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App on devices you own or control, for personal, non-commercial use.

3. Eligibility
You must be at least 4 years old to use HostCast. By using the App you confirm you meet this requirement.

4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use HostCast to:

Create sexual content involving minors, or any content that sexualizes minors;
Create illegal content, including but not limited to violence, self-harm, or the facilitation of illegal acts;
Create hate speech, harassment, or targeted abuse;
Jailbreak, reverse-engineer, or tamper with the App;
Violate the laws or platform policies of any region in which you publish your content.

5. AI-Generated Content & Disclaimer of Responsibility
HostCast's hosts are produced by an artificial-intelligence-driven avatar engine running on your device. Accordingly:

The developer is not the author of content created with the App and is not liable for it. You are responsible for the scripts you write and the videos you create and publish.
All hosts are virtual, fictional characters and do not represent real individuals.
HostCast is a content-creation tool and is not a substitute for professional, medical, legal, or financial advice.

6. Intellectual Property
All intellectual property in the App (excluding your own created content) is owned by us. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute it without prior written consent. You retain rights to the videos you create.

7. Disclaimer of Warranty
The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that outputs will be correct.

8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, including any reliance on AI-generated content.

9. Third-Party Services
Purchases are processed by Apple's App Store. We are not responsible for Apple's availability, content, privacy practices, or terms.

10. Changes & Termination
We may modify these Terms at any time. We may terminate your access if you violate these Terms, or upon request from Apple or regulators.
